I’d heard about the Harley demographic from long-time rider and friend Pete. His description: late-50s or 60s, most often retired, fun-loving but respectful, not necessarily wealthy but very comfortable. “Just the crowd you want,” Pete told me. What did I know. I owned a Honda 90 for a few months in the 80s, then a Honda 360 for a spell in the early 80s. But now, I was on the prowl for Harleys. If these riders were all Pete said they were then heck yeah, come to Hiouchi!
Enter Michelle and Noah. In Michelle’s emails, they seemed civil enough if not a bit perky for Harley riders on a west coast tour. When Michelle responded with a “Yay!” and “LOL” at various points in our email thread I started to wonder… Who in their sixties puts an LOL into email?
Their arrival? I was blown away and saw myself take a few steps back when she and Noah took off their helmets. Everything Pete said they’d be — only 40 years younger.
