My work history in pictures would look a lot like a pizza left out in the rain. Not so bad at the start, morphing to kinda droopy, now messy, now UGH!…none too pretty, hard to digest, best discarded and forgotten about.
I avoided my bosses (not all but most) and think most of my colleagues avoided me. As I rose through the ranks I worked thorough to the outer limits of my
corporate skill set until all that was left was, well, that pizza in the rain.
OK, it wasn’t a complete disaster, but I was never cut out for the office, or office politics. Which is why I am so impressed when groups of workmates vacation together at the bnb. I mean don’t you guys get enough of each other at the office? You mean to say you work together Monday through Friday and are currently vacationing together too?? My, my…how is that possible?
Andrew, Dottie, Kyle, and James are an example of how it’s done. In the area for a conference, the four (who indeed work together) were bookending the work week wit
time on the Smith before and a weekend at Crater Lake after. When I met them I was most certainly wearing my nothing good will come of this hat but I was mistaken. Their stay here was all good.
Tree huggers at their core (we like; that’s a shot off Kyle’s FB page) and among the kindest and gentlest with Anton, they totally won me over. Makes me almost miss the office.
