Most people who jump into cars and tally miles of competitive driving on asphalt would kill for this roadway and bridge to be part of their morning commute. Admit it…kind of a nice way to wake up, even it is 7AM and you’re running late.
For reference, this is heading westbound on the Hiouchi bridge (about three miles from the bnb) and as you can see, traffic is just killer this morning. That jeep is doing about 60 and is, like, totally cramping my style.
But don’t break a sweat looking for any coding gigs or UI work up here. And there isn’t much logging or a heck of a lot of work on boats, either. So. Do your city stuff back in the city. When you get here you’ll want to focus on fishing, floating the Smith, hiking, reading and dodging waves that roll in from the Pacific.
It may not be perfect but it isn’t half bad either.
[“nowhere” used in the Bruce Chatwin/Paul Theroux sense of the word…nowhere is a place.]
