One of the best parts of running the BnB is learning about other parts of the world. Guests who make it this far — to the northern redwoods and the tiny hamlets around Crescent City (itself, a remote place) bring tons of information about their travels. By in large, most are great explorers, love to share their adventures, and have roamed to some of the more remote spots on the globe. The world gets smaller talking to them.
Meg and I often think of Barrett and Carol in Whitehorse (their travels up and down the Alaska Highway), Rocky and Liza’s fantastic and sometimes hysterical travels in Italy, Mary and Lee’s stories of Asia (go now, they implore) — I have a stack of post-its and index cards with names of towns, remote bnbs, and mountains to explore. It should keep Meg and I busy for quite some time when we change stripes and get that RV. 🙂
Thanks to everyone for sharing stories of castles, hot springs, restaurants and beach towns.
