One of my longstanding bucket list items, years ago, included running a bnb somewhere supremely beautiful.
Over the years, while traveling abroad – in Thailand, Viet Nam, Spain, Panama, Japan, Mexico, or Egypt – somewhere along the line I’d meet up with I’d call, the groovy bnb owner. In the mornings over a cup of coffee, they were always in a good mood. It didn’t matter if the bnb needed a refresh or if it was a tad noisy the night before. They seemed to be having a good time surrounded by travelers — no matter what.
That’s where I got the idea.
I was always told the hard truth of running a bnb. That it won’t make you rich. I gave it a shot anyway. The truth was real. But it didn’t hurt. It‘s paradise here if you like hiking in the forest and swimming in the river. The great part is, I’ve done it!
Now it’s my time to go back to traveling, on the lookout once again for the groovy bnb owner with a glint in his eye and a knack for making coffee that can stand up to good conversation. I’m ready!
