Maybe it’s the smell of the trees or the sound the creek on the other side of the river. The breeze? The cool nights? Whatever the recipe is, someone should can it because people fall in love in the redwoods.
We’ve seen it plenty – couples come as girlfriend and boyfriend and a year later we get the news:
We just got engaged!
This is our new baby!
(Of course, there’s a flip side too. Guy or gal guest comes back to the bnb, only this time with someone new. Interesting, yes? Let’s not go there.)
The big winners? Grace and Joe are among them — a winter weekend in the redwoods, including many hours without electricity in the bnb, and a year later, BINGO, they’re getting married (which they did, at Bill’s place next door). And my favorite — let’s call them Mr. T and Mrs. H who sometime after the fact, related to me their child was actually, uh, created at the bnb. Again, let’s not go there.
In any case, sweethearts, take note: There’s something in the air around here.
You’ve been warned.
