“No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it’s not the same river and he’s not the same man.” — Heraclitus
You know what? It’s very true. We moved from Berkeley to the banks of the Smith River and most assuredly we are no longer the same man or woman! We think like fish — go with the flow.
And so we do.
And like the fish, we only kid ourselves thinking we have control. Sometimes the water is calm, sometimes choppy. It’s the same on dry land – sometimes our scene is placid and predictable. Other times it’s a perfect storm – chaos and unsuspecting challenge.
From the 30,000 foot view, life here is definitely slow. But the flow of guests that come through the BnB keeps our world active. Damn interesting bunch of people out there.
